Ace and I worked with high-level guide work for the first four weeks since we became certified, and now felt that Ace is ready for travel.
We had a whirlwind weekend in Jacksonville, FL which is approximately a 3-hour drive. On our way, we stopped at two locations to mark our stomping grounds: Fort McCoy and St. Augustine.
We decided to stop by Buc-ee's to see what it is like. To our surprise, that place has a strong BBQ brisket aroma and is congested. Ace breezed through the place with no mistakes. We met Buc-ee's mascot, Bucky the beaver. Ace thinks that beaver is weird.
Ace and I had a wonderful experience at the University of North Florida (UNF) and St. John's Town Center working with interpreting students. I received many compliments about Ace. Most of the people were genuinely impressed that Ace is so young and that we have been a team for just a little over a month. They originally thought he might be around 3 years old because of Ace's extraordinary guiding skills and pedestrian clearances.
We are so proud that our successful road trip was accomplished. We will have another road trip coming up soon. Keep your eyes peeled on the next blog!
